During the height of my modeling career, I wasn’t exactly the healthiest or strongest version of myself. On the outside things looked great as I was getting booked by major fashion houses, and it felt like constant validation that I was at the top of my game. But inside, I was a bit out of balance because I didn’t really have a solid relationship with myself or my body yet.
My priorities back then were tied up in a string of habits I leaned on throughout the day. I’d start my morning with coffee and a cigarette, and end the night with alcohol and a few more cigarettes. I wouldn’t have been labeled an “addict” in the typical sense, but I knew deep down that at some point I’d have to face these things. It was like a dark cloud sitting quietly in the back of my mind.
Then one morning, during my usual routine: first cigarette of the day mixed with that familiar blend of regret and a slight hangover
I got hit with this thought like lightning: “What if I never manage to quit?” It sent chills through me. In a panic, I started Googling hypnosis, techniques, anything that might help me stop smoking before it stopped me… or worse, before I completely gave up on myself.
That moment was the first real step in my journey toward both physical and inner strength. I took it one habit at a time.
I started exercising daily, quit smoking, started paying attention to what I ate, and slowly rebuilt myself.
I went from catching a cold every other month to maybe getting sick once a year. I put on 8 kilos of lean muscle. The best way to describe the shift is this: I went from driving a car that constantly felt like something might break, to driving a brand-new, German-engineered sports car that just needs good fuel and a bit of care.
Exercise became part of my life hygiene. Beyond the obvious benefits like staying strong and healthy, I began to understand the truth behind the Latin phrase “mens sana in corpore sano” a healthy mind in a healthy body.
I know for a fact that I wouldn’t have faced certain life challenges the way I did without my consistent strength-training routine.
I got obsessed, in a good way, with learning everything about health and training and somewhere along the way, I completely fell in love with sport science, with the feeling of becoming a better version of myself, and with the process of showing others that they can do the same. Now it’s not just my routine, it’s my passion: helping people feel stronger, clearer, and more confident in their own bodies, just like I learned to feel in mine.
